The ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) is an autonomous branch of DARE (Department of Agricultural Research and Education) which works under the Ministry of Agriculture of India. This organization is responsible for managing, guiding and coordinating education and research in agriculture including horticulture, animal sciences and fisheries throughout the country. ICAR conducts the AIEEA exam every year to offer students admission in a number of Post Graduate, Graduate, and PhD courses. The ICAR AIEEA 2018 is the 23rd AIEEA exam, which was to be conducted on 12th May 2018. However, the dates have been postponed due to administrative reasons.

Reservation and Seats ICAR AIEEA 2018

  • 2% seats for UPS
  • 3% seats for PC
  • 7.5% seats for ST
  • 15% seats for SC

OBC reservation as per the rules of the Indian Government: The exam is conducted to fill 15% Bachelor seats, 25% Master seats, and 100% ICAR DU seats in many different streams.

ICAR AIEEA 2018 Eligibility

Indian Nations above the age of 16 on 31st August 2018 can apply for AIEEA exam if they fulfil the educational qualification. Only the candidates who have cleared 10+2 Senior Secondary Exam of CBSE or equivalent are eligible for the exam. Aspirants should compulsorily have English as a subject and should have cleared the same in their 10+2.

ICAR 2018 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The ICAR AIEEA 2018 syllabus includes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Agriculture, and Biology. The exam paper has 180 multiple choice questions, and students get 2 ½ hours to complete the paper. Candidates can choose between Stream A (Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture/Biology) and Stream B (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics). Stream A paper has questions from Agriculture as well as Biology and students need to attempt one of the two subjects.

Availability and Submission of ICAR AIEEA Exam Form

The online application form for ICAR AIEEA exam are made available from the first week of March, and the form needs to be submitted by the last week of the same month. After successful submission of the form, the fee for the exam needs to be paid in the first week of April. Admit Card will be distributed in the second week of April. As the exam has now been postponed, there is no confirmation of the exam date. The result for ICAR AIEEA exam is announced after a month from the date of the exam.

The ICAR also conducts counselling for candidates who have successfully cleared the AIEEA exam. After the result is announced, a category-wise list is prepared for counselling. Aspirants are required to fill a counselling form after which they are provided with a date and time for their counselling session.
