About Bank PO

IBPS, SBI, RBI every year comes out with huge number of vacancies for recruitment of eligible candidates for the post of Bank PO (Probationary Officers). Candidates who aspire to join as Probationary Officers, required to register online for the recruitment process.

Talking about the selection procedure, the Bank PO online exam will be conducted in three phases – Preliminary, Mains Exam & Interview. Shortlisted candidates, who have appeared for Prelims and Cleared the cut offs will be eligible to appear for the Mains Examination.

Thereafter, candidates those qualifying the Mains Examination will be called for a Group Discussion and Interview. The Final Merit list of Bank PO will be prepared on the basis of the marks in Mains Exam and Group Discussion & Interview. Allotment of candidates to the different branches of + will be done from the top-ranked candidates in the merit list.

Candidates applying for Bank PO exam should fulfill the necessary eligibility criteria, which is:

1. Nationality: Only Indian Citizens can only apply.

2. Age Limit – Candidates should not below 21 years and above 30 years.

3. Educational Qualification – Candidates must a graduate. Graduation from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification in any discipline. Final year/semester candidates can also apply.

Bank PO Exam Pattern and Structure

Now that you know if you are eligible to apply for this exam, let’s see the exam pattern:
The Pattern and Structure of Bank PO Exam has been divided into Prelims, Mains and Group Discussion & Interview. The Preliminary Examination consists of Objective Tests for 100 marks which will be conducted online. The test will be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 sections – English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. If you qualify the prelims, you are just two steps away from becoming a Probationary Officer.

Also, Mains Exam Marks is more important as the marks you score in this exam define your place in the merit list. The pattern for Mains exam is very simple. Mains exam comprises of Objective Test and Descriptive Test. 200 marks Objective test and 50 marks Descriptive test will be conducted by online. The total marks of the candidates, both Objective and the Descriptive Test will be calculated in descending order in each category to be called for the Interview.

Then the final stage will be your Interview. After this round, a merit list will be made combining Main exam marks and Interview marks. If you want to become the next Probationary Officer in the nationalised banks in India, then you need to start your preparation right away! And first, focus on clearing your Prelims.
